GIVING SPREE 💚
The Market has set an ambitious goal to raise $20,000 in Today funds and $20,000 in Forever funds for our $20+$20 Vision Campaign!
We at the Adams County Farmers Market have a bright vision for the future, but we need your help to bring that vision to life. Can you see it now? Think of the most extraordinary farmers market you can imagine. With your help, that can be our market here in Adams County! The best part of donating to the Adams County Farmers Market is that you can see the impact of your contribution come to life every Saturday morning!
What should you do? If you already plan to give during the Giving Spree, please give a little extra and contribute to both our Today and Forever goals. We recommend doubling the single dollar amount you initially intended and contribute to the Today and Forever funds as two separate gifts. The impact of your support will go further than you can imagine! If you want to learn more about the work of the Adams County Farmers Market, check out our 2023 Food Programs Report and our 6-Year Progress Report – each document loaded with information about our market’s accomplishments and goals!
$20,000 in Today funds means:
Immediate food assistance resources for families facing hunger
Creative new events and entertainment
Critical operating revenue for market staff and supplies
Resources for marketing and customer engagement
Nutrition education and cooking demos at the market
$20,000 in Forever funds means:
Food assistance programs for everyone – forever
New food programs, like a 3x SNAP match nutrition incentive
A strong path towards a covered market pavilion or structure
Market programs that support a sustainable environment
A vibrant, thriving marketplace for the whole community that never goes away
The Adams County Farmers Market is #10 on the donor form!
FAQs:
What even is the Giving Spree?
The Giving Spree is Adams County’s annual day of giving, where everyone in the community comes together to learn about local nonprofits and is encouraged to support them. The Adams County Community Foundation operates the Giving Spree, and participating organizations – like the Adams County Farmers Market – benefit from the donations! No fees are charged to participating nonprofits, and there is no fee taken from donations.
How do I donate during the Spree?
There are 3 ways to give:
Mail in a donor form to the Community Foundation office any time, starting now! Their mailing address is: 25 South 4th St. Gettysburg, PA 17325
Give online on November 7 any time between 12:01 a.m. and 12:00 midnight. The online donation portal can be found HERE, and is only active for a 24-hour window on Nov. 7th.
Take advantage of curb-side drop off at 5 different locations across Adams County from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on November 7th.
Why should I donate during the Spree?
Not only are your donations tax deductible, but the Community Foundation also helps make your donations go further with an Incentive Match! The Incentive Match helps all participating nonprofits. At the close of the Giving Spree, the Incentive Match is distributed to the participating nonprofits in proportion to the amount they raised during the Giving Spree. In other words, your donations to the Adams County Farmers Market go further through the Giving Spree than they would independently!
What is the difference between a Today gift and a Forever gift?
On the Donor Form, you’ll see that you can check either the ✓ Today box or the ✓ Forever box. If you check Today, your gift will go to the farmers market right away, to help with immediate needs. If you check Forever, your one-time gift will be added to a permanent farmers market endowment that provides grant funds for the market year-over-year, forever! Here at the Adams County Farmers Market, we are trying to raise $20,000 in b0th Today and Forever gifts during the 2024 Spree! (Note: Forever gifts are still just one-time gifts. Making a Forever gift does not mean you must keep donating yearly or monthly.)
When can I actually start giving?
Donor forms are being accepted right now! Print out your form HERE, follow the instructions, and send it in now for your Giving Spree gifts to be tallied on November 7th. Or, you can wait until November 7th to give online or use the curb-side drop off.
